But for middle-aged me, it felt more like a pressure balloon.<\/p><p data-start=\"797\" data-end=\"1116\">There\u2019s a curse to being \u201cthe Protagonist.\u201d You\u2019re always thinking about the people you love. During a long-term vision exercise, I imagined walking my daughter down the aisle one day. In that vision, I handed her a Rolex and told her, \u201cPlease continue to wear this for the rest of your life.\u201d She\u2019s five years old now.<\/p><p data-start=\"1118\" data-end=\"1401\">Of course, I woke up from that dream\u2014well, exercise\u2014but the idea of owning a decent watch never left me. You know the kind of place\u2014stores you always walk past but never step into. That day, we did.<\/p><p data-start=\"1607\" data-end=\"1913\">Remember the first time you went to a bar when you were barely legal, and that tingling fear someone might stop you and ask for your ID? That same feeling returned as we dashed into a red-doored boutique in our local mall. But to my surprise, it all happened quickly\u2014and much more smoothly than I expected.<\/p><p data-start=\"1915\" data-end=\"2184\">When you think about something every day and dream about it every night, articulating it out loud to a salesperson actually becomes quite natural. My first question was, \u201cWhere can I see the 1926?\u201d (the model name). From that moment on, things flowed as smooth as silk.<\/p><p data-start=\"2186\" data-end=\"2610\">The only difference between dreaming of watches and being in a boutique is that now, you\u2019re faced with the reality of the moment\u2014the judging eyes (or so you think), the heart-pounding anxiety, the careful observation of finishing and details. Every question feels like a test. Every answer feels like a reveal. Negotiating, asking about promotions, even finding the courage to touch the watch\u2014everything was new and intense.<\/p><p data-start=\"2612\" data-end=\"2818\">But the boutique we walked into was professional and warm. They could\u2019ve judged us\u2014but didn\u2019t. That first experience was pivotal. Their humble attitude calmed our nerves and sparked an even deeper interest.<\/p><p data-start=\"2820\" data-end=\"2956\">On our second visit, we sealed the deal. It was the biggest purchase our family had made since our wedding. But ever since my wrist found occupancy with these conversation-starting watches, something changed. We began talking again\u2014not to strangers, but to each other.<\/p><p data-start=\"3241\" data-end=\"3380\">You wouldn\u2019t believe it, but King Power had 30% off deals on major names like Blancpain and Omega. Imagine a 200K baht drop\u2014just like that!<\/p><p data-start=\"3382\" data-end=\"3576\">Just a few months ago, we couldn\u2019t even pronounce those names. Now, we\u2019re hooked. On the surface, it may seem like we\u2019re just two snobby try-hards. But beneath it all, something good is brewing.<\/p><p data-start=\"3578\" data-end=\"3714\">Our companionship is growing. A symbol that brings us back to the present, to the truth that no one lives forever.
